Good Morning one and all – First of all a very Happy Independence Day to all of you!
Students, you must be feeling surprised why our school has organized the function today, i.e. on Independence Day and not before like it always do. But let me tell you the reason why management planned it this way is because we wanted to make it even more special by celebrating it on that very day itself with great pomp and show.
Independence Day is declared as a national holiday in our country and as we all know that it falls on 15th of August every year. The freedom that our country won on that historic day was a milestone moment for all the Indians as it was won after a long period of relentless struggle and sacrifice of our forefathers. And most importantly our freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and Subhash Chandra Bose sacrificed their lives to free India from slavery and a state of destitution. Therefore, let’s pay a grand salute to those great spirits who never lived for themselves but for their motherland.
Secondly, we can pay tribute to them in true sense of the term by dedicatedly working for our motherland and never performing any such deeds which may leave a blot on the integrity and dignity of our country. We are born here and being the citizens of our country it becomes our responsibility to bring glory and accolades to our country. This is called true patriotic fervor; we are not expected to be fanatics or to wage battles but to do whatever best we can in our capacity.
It doesn’t matter whether one is a doctor, engineer, teacher or a pilot by profession, what matters is our honesty and hard work. How well we serve our motherland by discharging our duties well and not causing harm to any living individual and also by inculcating such virtues as compassion, feeling of brotherhood, truthfulness, etc. A person who is deceitful will not only malign his name but that of his family and nation as a whole. Our nation doesn’t need such people, but hardworking and honest individuals. So students – you being the youth and future of our country – are expected to follow the path of virtue and never let the country down.
Our country is a rich land of diverse cultural, religious, social and moral values. We are also pioneers in the field of Ayurveda and Science since the ancient times. All these attributes combined make India stand out from the remaining countries in the world and quite popular in the west. India is known for its vast diversity of cultural, social as well as topographical diversity and therefore we should feel proud to be born in India, which is the world’s biggest democracy developing at a fast pace. We have gained success in the area of telecom industry, green revolution as well as Space Technology. And now, we are emerging in the sector of IT industry too.
I sincerely hope that our country continues to excel in all the fields possible and become the next superpower in the times to come. This is all from my side.
Thank You!
